I'm Jesse, a farrier providing barefoot hoofcare in the Northeastern New England area. A student of Jaime Jackson's ISNHCP, I specialize in the Natural Trim. As a practitioner, I feel a duty and responsibility to provide the kind of care that best contributes to the wellbeing of your animal, and as a lover of animals, I believe it should always be done with gentle affection, patience and care.
Philosophy
If dogs are man's best friend, surely our other best friends are horses (and donkeys and mules)!
As such, the big question that first drew me into the horse world was, “What can I do for the horses?”
I found my answers in Natural Hoofcare and Natural Horsemanship. I've been blessed with the opportunity to study with and work alongside great people of expertise and many years of experience in both fields.
My hoofcare practice is my modest contribution to the good health and wellbeing of the horses I work with. The Natural Trim best allows the unshod horse full function and mobility through the hoof, up the legs and in the whole body.
My approach to horsemanship is one that is kind, but firm, with patience and a calm presence. As my friend and mentor Chris Lombard says, with a spirit of cooperation, “the work doesn't happen to them, it happens through them.”
Whether you're looking for regular trim cycles or guidance on transitioning to barefoot, I'd love to connect.
